Buy British Silver Two Dragons Coins Online. The British Two Dragon Silver coin was released in 2018 as one of the bullion coins produced by the Royal Mint. The coin was produced to celebrate two different cultures from two different nations; the Welsh and the Chinese. In Chinese mythology, the dragon is believed to have over the elements and is a symbol of power and strength. The 1 t/oz coin has a reeded edge and its diameter measures 38.61 millimeters. The coin has a thickness of 3.0 millimeters and a silver purity of .999. It has a monetary value of two pounds.
The obverse side of the coin, designed by Jody Clark, depicts the effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen faces the right side of the coin. She wears the crown she wore on her coronation day, in 1953. Along the periphery of the coin, surrounding the effigy, the text “ELIZABETH II • D • G • REG • F • D • 2 POUNDS •” is engraved from the top-right side of the coin, in a clockwise direction. The initials on the text stand for ‘Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor’ which translates to: By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of Faith.
On the reverse of the British Two Dragons Silver coin, two dragons are featured. The dragon on the upper half of the design field is the Chinese dragon while the dragon on the lower half is the Welsh dragon. The combination of the dragons commemorates the deep connection between the two countries. Each of these cultures might share common beliefs in the dragon but the beasts are depicted differently. The Chinese dragon has a snake-like appearance with eight legs and no wings. By comparison, the Welsh dragon has four legs and a set of wings with a pointed tongue and tail. At the top of the coin, the text “TWO DRAGONS’ is inscribed. The text “ONE OUNCE FINE SILVER 999 2018” is inscribed at the bottom of the coin, counterclockwise.
It is an official legal tender backed by the British government and is manufactured by The Royal British Mint who make the majority of all British Silver Coins. Thus, collectors and investors can buy British Silver Two Dragons coins online free from sales tax.
