The Call of the Wild series provides viewers with a glimpse of Canada’s most ferocious predators at their most feral moment. The coin comes in two sizes; 1/10 t/oz and 1 t/oz. The 1 oz coin has a diameter of 30 millimeters and a thickness of 2.87 millimeters. The edge of the coin is reeded and has a gold purity of .99999. It has a monetary denomination of 200 dollars.
The obverse of the coin featured the effigy of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen faces the right side of the coin and wears a beaded necklace. On the upper side of the coin, the name “ELIZABETH II” curves from the top-left side of the coin to the top-right side. On the lower side of the coin, the face value of the coin and the year of mintage are engraved; from the bottom-left side of the coin to the bottom right, “200 DOLLARS 2015”.
Depicted on the reverse side of the coin is a Canadian cougar, baring its teeth as it lets out a menacing growl. The cougar faces the right side of the coin with its head slightly tilted facing the top side of the coin. The name “CANADA” is engraved at the top side of the coin. The fineness of the gold and the size of the coin are inscribed at the bottom of the coin, “FINE GOLD 99999 1 OZ OR PUR”, extending from the mid-left section of the coin to the mid-right side. A small maple leaf is below the cougar, inscribed “15”.
