It was the fourth and final release of the series manufactured in 2015. The obverse of the 1 oz coin feature Susanna Blunt’s effigy design of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty faces the right side of the coin wearing her beaded necklace around her neck. The initials of the designer are inscribed on the Queen’s right shoulder- “SB”. At the top and bottom side of the coin, the year of mintage, “2015”, and the face value of the coin, “5 DOLLARS”, are engraved, respectively. The name “ELIZABETH II” is debossed on the left side of the coin; from the bottom-left to the top-left side of the coin. On the right side of the coin, the text “D G REGINA” is engraved at the right side of the coin along the edge. The text stands for ‘Dei Gratia Regina’ which translates to: By the Grace of God, Queen.
It has a diameter and thickness of 38 and 2.9 millimeters respectively. It has a reeded edge and has a silver purity of .9999. Designed by Emily Damstra, the reverse of the Canadian Silver Great Horned Owl coin features Great Horned Owl design, which depicts the bird as it swoops down on its prey below. The bird’s figure is finished in a frosted relief. The text “CANADA” and the silver purity of the coin, “9999”, are engraved at the top side of the coin. At the bottom side, the text “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR” is inscribed.
