The Isle of Man Gold Pound were struck in 1986 by the Pobjoy Mint when they were minted for specific years. However, they came in general circulation in 1997. From 2001 up to date, they are released on an annual basis. They exist both in form of silver and gold. Like many other coins, Isle of Man Gold Pound are used in bullion where investors buy them for resale.

The Isle of Man Gold Pound coin comes in denominations of 2 and 5 with each denomination having its own dimensions except for gold purity at 91.6% and thickness of 2mm which are similar in both. The 2 pound denomination weighs 15.98g and spans 28.4mm in width. On the other hand, the 5 pound gold coin is 36.2mm wide and weighs 39.94g. Just like other precious metals, the price of Isle of Man Gold Coin is updated continuously. However, it is important to note that its actual value is far much higher than the face value. The Isle of Man Gold Pound has a depiction of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the center of the obverse side. To the left of this depiction, the inscription “ISLE OF MAN” forms an arc and to the right is the inscription “ELIZABETH II”. The reverse side depicts a warrior on a horse back with a sword in the right hand and the left hand is holding the saddle. In this depiction, the warrior appears to be in a battle field. The year of mintage is inscribed at the bottom center and beside it towards the right, the initials P.M can be seen which mean Pobjoy Mint which is the mint that struck the coin.

The Isle of Man Gold Pound was struck by the Pobjoy Mint in 1986 in a place known as Isle of Man. This type of coins have been in circulation every year from 2001.
