The obverse, depicts the portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. She is displayed facing the right profile of the coin. She has a crown on her head. Her hair is curly at the edges. Along the rim there are some inscriptions. These are “ELIZABETH II” which runs from the bottom-left of the coin to the top-left of the coin. “ISLE OF MAN” runs from the top-right to the bottom-right of the coin. All these inscriptions are separated by the national symbol of three connected legs, the historical representation of the Isle of Man.

The reverse of the Isle of Man Silver Angel features the Biblical Archangel Michael. In the depiction, the archangel fights a terrifying dragon with a spear in his hand. He holds his shield before the dragon’s fiery blast which causes the flames to be dispersed in every direction. Michael is piercing the dragon with the spear, triumphing. Such depictions were believed, in the Middle Ages, to deliver health and fortune to the owners who carried the coins. The periphery is decorated with a chain pattern which curves around it. At the bottom of the coin, the word “ANGEL” is inscribed.  Tinier inscriptions, “Ag.999. 1 OUNCE” are over the word “ANGEL”. The coin also showcases commemorative 15 privy mark noting the 2016 version as the fifteenth-year anniversary of striking the original Silver Angel.
