The face value of the coin is engraved on the right side of the coin – “ONE DOLLAR”. The text “NIUE” and the year of mint, “2019”, are inscribed at the top and bottom of the coin, respectively.

On the reverse side of the coin, Her Majesty’s ship, the Bounty, is portrayed under sail, circumscribed by an eight-point compass. The HMS Bounty was built in England in 1784 and was purchased by the Royal Navy in 1787. Its service was short but still remains a symbol of wealth and prosperity.
