Buy Australian Silver Year of the Rooster Coins Online. The Australian Silver Year of the Rooster is one of the Lunar Series II coins. It is the 10th release in the series. The sizes of the coin stretch from the one-half ounce to ten ounces. The coin was released in the 2017.

For the one-half ounce coin, the coin has a diameter of 36.6 millimeters and a thickness of 2.30 millimeters. With its reeded edge, the coin has a silver purity of 99.99%. Ian Rank-Broadley’s 1998 image of Queen Elizabeth II is on the obverse of the coin. The Queen faces the right side of the coin wearing her coronation crown.  The name “ELIZABETH II” is inscribed from the mid-left side of the coin to the top-left. “AUSTRALIA” is engraved on the right side of the coin; from the top-right to the mid-right section of the Silver Year of the Rooster coin.  From the mid-left section of the coin, the size of the coin, the silver purity of the Rooster coin, the year of mintage and the monetary of the coin are inscribed to the mid-right of the coin- “½ OZ 9999 Ag 2017 50 CENTS”. Ian Rank-Broadley, “IRB”, initials are engraved below the Queen’s effigy.

The reverse of the Silver Rooster coin features a rooster and a small family composed of a hen and three chicks. The rooster is on the right side of the coin, facing the left, with one of its leg, left leg, raised above the ground. The hens and the chicks are pecking down on the ground. At the top of the coin, some twigs are evident coming from the right side of the coin. The Chinese character for rooster, 鷄, is at the top-left of the coin. The text “YEAR OF THE ROOSTER” is inscribed at the bottom of the coin, counterclockwise. The mint mark “P”, is debossed on the mid-left of the coin.

The Perth Mint, wholly owned by the Government of Western Australia, manufactured the first coin. It was established on 20th June 1899 and it is Australia’s official bullion mint.
