Each of the grizzly bear coins has a stunning obverse never seen in a coin before. This is a 3D sculpture of a grizzly that appears to spring out of the coin at the collector, with a gold-plated finish that stands out visually from the silver coin’s surface. This beautiful 31 g grizzly bear coin is the 6th release in the series.
The obverse of the coin features the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty the Queen has appeared on most commonwealth country’s coins since 1953 when she was coroneted. This particular design was created by Susanna Blunt in 2003. The reverse of the Canadian Platinum Grizzly is the image of a massive grizzly bear as it lies in the long grass enjoying a summer day. Its huge skull and paws are seen as it lounges in the sun almost shielding itself from the bright sun.
