Surrounding the coat of arms is the inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” which is the official name of Mexico in Spanish. Ten other Coat of Arms encircles the eagle situated at the center of the obverse side. The reverse side features a winged Victoria of Mexican Independence in front of a landscape with volcanoes. The weight of the coin is also indicated on the reverse along with the year of mintage and its purity.
