Buy Silver American Eagle coins online. The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States. It was first released on November 24^th, 1986. The coin is struck only in one troy ounce size, which has a nominal face value of one dollar.

The coin has a diameter of 40.6 millimeters and a thickness of 2.98 millimeters. With its reeded edge, the coin has a mass of 31.103 grams and a silver fineness of 99.9%, the rest being copper. The obverse of the coin features Adolf A. Weinman’s design of the walking liberty. The walking liberty faces the left side of the coin with the right hand stretched out to the direction of movement.  A sun can be seen on the horizon with rays of light emerging from it. The name “LIBERTY” is engraved on the upper side of the coin, from the mid-left to the mid-right side of the coin, along the rim. Some characters of the inscription are not fully visible since they have been covered by the walking liberty’s clothing. On the lower-right side of the coin, the text “IN GOD WE TRUST” is inscribed. At the bottom of the coin, the year of mintage is engraved- “2014”.

The reverse of the Silver American Eagle displays John Mercanti’s design of the heraldic eagle with shield and thirteen five-pointed stars above it. The eagle is portrayed holding in his dexter talon an olive branch and a bundle of thirteen arrows all proper with its sinister talon.  A white scroll from the beak is inscribed with the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM”. On the upper part of the coin, the name “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” is engraved from the mid-left section to the mid-right section. The size of the coin, silver purity of the coin and the monetary denomination of the coin are engraved- “∙ 1 OZ. FINE SILVER – ONE DOLLAR ∙”- at the bottom of the coin; from the mid-left extending to the mid-right side of the coin.
