The text “REPUBLIKA Y’U RWANDA” is at the top of the seal which translates to: Republic of Rwanda. At the bottom of the seal, is the text “UBUMWE – UMURIMO – GUKUNDA IGIHUGU” in Kinyarwanda which translates to Unity, Work, Patriotism in English. “BANKI NKURU Y’U RWANDA” is inscribed at the top of the coin; from the mid-left to the mid-right. It means Bank of Rwanda. The text “AMAFARANGA 50 MIRONGO ITANU” is at the bottom of the coin, extending from bottom-left to bottom-right side.
